We begin Day one with essential pistol precision skills\, speed\, and precision out of the holster\, before applying these principles to concealed carry. \nOn Day two we turn to malfunction management\, various reload proficiency drills and dynamic movement drills. We will finish day two by using judgment to engage multiple shoot\, no-shoot targets while moving\, using time-induced stress. \nEach class is tailored to the student in attendance regardless of background or experience. Multiple instructors will be on hand to provide a one-on-one experience through each process of learning. \nClass Prerequisites: \nStudents must have the basic skills required to safely load unload and operate their firearm without any assistance. Students MUST have all appropriate equipment and gear before attending this course. \nEquipment and supplies required: \nThis class requires eye and ear protection and at least 800+ rounds of ammunition for the handgun you will use. \nSemi-automatic pistol with three (3) magazines and spare magazine carrier or a revolver with three (3) speed loaders and carrier for speed loaders. \nA quality holster (open or concealed) that has secure belt points of contact and does not collapse (no shoulder holsters\, purse holsters permitted) AIWB is ok. SUMMARY:Advanced Instructor Development
DESCRIPTION:Advanced Firearms Instructor Development Course \nSunday-Monday class \nThe Advanced Instructor Course picks up where the Firearms Instructor Development Course ends. Our Three-Day Firearms Instructor Development and Certification Course packed an incredible amount of information into three full days of training. Since most of our students are there on their own dime and their own time\, we hold that course on Friday through Sunday to minimize disruption of their lives. The Advanced Firearms Instructor course picks up where day three of the basic instructor course ends. If we had five full days the advanced instructor course would be days four and five of the process. By making this a separate course the students can practice the skills learned\, absorb the material covered in the basic instructor course and be ready to learn a whole new set of skills. \nIn the instructor course we have already covered the academic side of marksmanship and adult teaching methodology and given the students a thorough grounding in pistol marksmanship. In the advanced class this allows us to push students to even higher skill levels on the range. In the classroom we will cover subjects including different scoring methods; target design; course of fire design; instructor liability and how to limit it; and some of the psychological issues involved in teaching people how to fight for their lives. \nStudents will need about 800 rounds of ammunition. Students receive a comprehensive training manual. Tuition is $495. Enrollment is strictly limited to those who have successfully graduated from our basic instructor course. \n  \nRefunds are available until 30 days prior to class date. NO refunds less than 30 days before class.

SUMMARY:A Church/School-Focused Study of the Active Shooter Problem & How to Minimize Victims
DESCRIPTION:This presentation is a focused study of the church/School Active Shooter attack\, what responses have saved lives\, and what responses have not.   Churches and Schools in America have been struggling at planning for and responding to the Active Shooter threat for over 40 years.  This struggle is a result of relying on our country’s default response plan and adopting “best practices” that are not best.  All Church/school response plans should be measured by two metrics: what ends the attack (1) the quickest and (2) with the fewest victims.  Presentation topics covered include: the attack & attacker; past failures and lessons-learned; what is most likely to happen in a Church/school Active Shooter attack; how attacks differ between Chruches. elementary\, middle\, and high schools; the importance of TIME & MATH; recommendations on policies\, training\, and structure changes; and the only response plan that gives an expectation of a single-digit victim count. \nThis will be presented by Ed Monk\, \nEd Monk is a police officer\, firearms trainer\, author\, former schoolteacher\, and retired Army officer.  He has researched and provided training on the Active Shooter threat since 2007. He has trained law enforcement agencies\, schools\, churches\, businesses and armed citizens nationwide.  He has been an invited speaker at many international\, national\, and state conferences across the country.  In 2007\, Ed retired from the Army as a lieutenant colonel and battalion commander after 24 years of active-duty in the US\, Europe\, and Iraq. He then taught high school and served as a deputy sheriff in Kentucky. He now serves as a part-time police officer in Arkansas.  Ed has a BS in US History from West Point\, an MS in Adult Education from Kansas State University\, and he is a graduate of the US Army’s Command & General Staff College.  He is author of the book\, First 30 Seconds.
