DESCRIPTION:The EDC Essentials course builds upon the skills found in the Holster Fundamentals course and on your own personal experience. This course focuses on the more complex thinking on your feet required for defensive carry. This course will take you out of the comfort zone of what you think you know and present you will real life scenarios and judgmental shooting. This is an 7-8 hour class not including lunch. \nFocus areas within this course include: \n\nDrawing from Concealment\nAccuracy with shooting the first shot from concealment\nMulti-round shots & follow through\nReloads and malfunctions under timed induced stress\nShooting under timed induced stress and follow through assessment\nJudgmental shooting\nOne handed shooting techniques\nExecutive protection techniques for your family.\n\nEquipment and supplies required: \nClass requires eye and ear protection and at least 500 rounds of ammunition for the handgun you will use. \nSemi-automatic pistol with three (3) magazines and spare magazine carrier or a revolver with three (3) speed loaders and carrier for speed loaders. \nA quality strong-side holster (open or concealed) that has 2 points of contact and does not collapse (no shoulder holsters\, purse holsters permitted) AIWB is ok. This class incorporates concealment.

DESCRIPTION:NRA Pistol Instructor Course \nThis 16-hour course teaches the knowledge\, skills and attitude essential to organizing\, promoting and teaching NRA’s Basic Pistol Shooting course. \nMore Details: Day one is the basic student course which is now required and will give instructor candidates the ability to see the course taught properly. Day two the instructor candidates will demonstrate teaching the material they saw on day one with assistance from our Counselor staff. \nPrerequisite: Possession of basic firearm safety and shooting skills is a prerequisite for certification as an NRA instructor. Prior to the instructor training\, candidates complete a pre-course questionnaire and demonstrate their firearm background in pre-course assessment exercises which includes a shooting qualification. They must be able to show the Training Counselors that they have a HIGH LEVEL of proficiency in safe gun handling. They must have attended BIT within the past 24 months. \nDescription: Course is presented in two parts: basic student training\, and discipline specific instructor training. Students demonstrate organizational and teaching skills via participation in practical exercises during the course\, and complete an instructor certification examination. This course will teach you exercises to help you become proficient with drawing your handgun quickly and accurately place rounds on target. Our goal is to get you down to 1.5 seconds before end of class. \nFocus areas within this course include: \n\nProper methods to draw from the holster with retention\nAccuracy with shooting the first shot from the holster\nMulti-round shots & follow through\nAppropriate sight picture at various target distances\nShooting under timed stress and follow through assessment.\nOur goal is to get you below 1.5 sec from the holster.\n\nEquipment and supplies required: \nClass requires eye and ear protection and at least 300 rounds of ammunition for the handgun you will use \nSemi-automatic pistol with three (3) magazines and spare magazine carrier or a revolver with three (3) speed loaders and carrier for speed loaders \nA quality holster that has 2 points of contact and does not collapse.
