Private Pistol Training w/ Dave Laird 02/19/2021

This is a custom-tailored private course being put on by David Laird w/ DCS Training

This introductory course is designed around learning the fundamental skills behind shooting handguns both safely and accurately. The Pistol Precision course is designed for those who have been shooting for a while but need to learn how to be more accurate. Course instruction includes classroom work, hands on dry-fire practice, and live fire exercises designed to improve your shooting skills.

Focus areas within this course include:

• Universal Firearm Safety
• grip, stance, sight alignment, trigger squeeze
• Precision shooting techniques/ Diagnosing your target
• Great preparation for students interested in moving on to more advanced shooting courses and CCW

Holster Fundamentals builds upon the skills found in the Precision Pistol course. This course focuses on precision and speed from the holster. This course will teach you exercises to help you become proficient with drawing your handgun quickly and accurately place rounds on target. Our goal is to get you down to 1.5 seconds before end of class.

Focus areas within this course include:

• Proper methods to draw from the holster
• Accuracy with shooting the first shot from the holster
• Multi-round shots & follow through
• Appropriate sight picture at various target distances
• Shooting under stress and follow through assessment

Equipment and supplies required:

The class requires eye and ear protection and at LEAST 200 rounds of ammunition for the handgun you will use.

A quality holster that has 2 points of contact and does not collapse. Must cover trigger guard, must not be loose. Must allow an unassisted return. AIWB is ok.
